Bonner is my Family
But even family runs deep.
I’ve learned Mountain Mammas are stronger than any punch thrown in Lo’s Gym
I’ve seen the LAW family go to war for people they love.
I’ve learned that Blood is Red and Water is deep but it is
COMPASSION that gets us ALL
To
The
Finish Line
#breakup with your #bonner – they need Dr. Nate and a whole lot of sKATE-ing
<<<>>>
We are here to learn
We are here to serve
With all the experience we earn
We only build our nerve
To take on the day
And pave the way
To a better tomorrow

Opening the glass doors
of Castle Island Bilingual Montessori
I walk in, with my supervisor
right there to great us with
a great big smile.
Running through my head,
a new day to continue
studying our school for getting
accredited, imagining the day
when we receive the stamp
of approval.
Down at the Collaboratory, we are collaborative,
Other Bonners and vistas are supportive,
Music and residents fill up the streets
The community stays alive through cultural beats.
ode to Green Tech
Dear school of green-blooded boys,
you strengthen this world and uphold the best standard
you brighten Albany’s day with your wit and your banter
you make classrooms like homes full of love and compassion
Mrs. Aviza’s sons are the best, no capping
I’m just learning the ropes about how all is done
but with this team I’m sure, it will be fun
From subbing to common app I’m sure you’ll succeed
because your Green Tech Men and your blood bleeds Green
Bringing
Optimistic
Nifty
New faces
Everywhere
In the Region
Service is fun
Building community is never done
Put on your service shoes
And make a difference
Wake up,
Take a shower,
Brush your teeth,
Put on deodorant,
Put on lotion,
Put on clothes,
walk out,
go to service shuttle,
SERVE!
(Repeat Tuesdays, Wednesday’s, Friday’s)
Bonner Service leaders smile and work hard
West Virginia, study abroad, academic support
From blogs to trainings to even a grace card
Bwbrs is where our hours go to report
The morehouse is quiet and fun at the same time
People in and out, printing and meetings
Projects and programs, I’m just making this rhyme
Everyone’s sweet and real nice with greetings
I love service
it’s the best part of my day
i get in the car with frank
we could talk all day
When I get to United Tenants
the time flies by
so much to do
its hard to say bye
We love Frank!!!

Engaged
Rewarding
Dropped off at my site
By my main man Larry
Boy that traffic
Was really hairy
I love service
And the children at my site
They are super great
And really polite
B love is the motto
I think I won the lotto
With amazing program
The better person I am
(To be read with a sick beat box in the background)
Am I in NExT?
Am I in Bonner?
It doesn’t matter,
it is not worth it to ponder.
I serve my community,
and that alone is an honor.
Beautiful
Bonner is…
Love
Kind
Challenging
Worth it
Boys and Girls Club is all fun and games
Uno, Knockout and homework time
Serve to make a difference
I am a bonner therefore I must serve
All day
everyday
Simple. Effective.
Don’t yuck my yum
We walk to our own drum
Bonner is my jam
It’s the best program
I B-LOVE my friends
We serve until the ends
Heck ya
This is so fabulous!
ily buddy
Planting seeds to help others grow
Finding passion through the highs and lows
Creating change in the community
Bonner will always be a family to me
GOOD morning SUN
What a good day to have FUN
WOOD is nice for buildings
FOOD is nice for eating
SOOD, Dr. Vinay is a gastroenterologist
Sadly, this poem doesn’t rhyme but I know its okay because Bonners are helping with out community’s buildings at TRIP, food is being served at Catholic Charities pantries and homeless shelters, and future Marlie M.D. is helping ALH girls with health at the Whitney center!
I appreciate the shoutout!! Your poem was beautiful
Be willing to put others before yourself
Open-minded and always willing to learn from others
Never gives up when pushed outside of their comfort zone
Nice to everyone
Everlasting love
Reaches out to the community around them
Harvest and Mowing
Simplicity and good food
All are welcome here
At my site there might be lice
But I still go everyday
Because I love what I do
And that’s the Bonner way
This is a whole mood… gotta love the kiddos though!
youth and refugees
the people i serve
the ones i work every week to please
its rarely easy
but that’s not why we’re here
to love and serve
those who we hold near and dear
my name is grace
im not going to get in your face
Bonner is what I do
it makes me say WOO HOO
I love the Girl Scouts
even when they made me pout
and I didn’t get any clout
but I loved what I did
and I miss those kids
Roses are red
Violets are blue
We love to serve
Hopefully you do too 🙂
Friends and family all in one
Serving is just so much fun
Giving back is what we do
Holding hands with all of you
I love the community I help
With lots of joy we like to yelp
All of our differences set aside
Our actions make us swell with pride
Bonner’s an organization, a community, a family.
Working with others in the community to improve the lives of others.
Giving back to society and yourself by going the extra distance.
Gaining a sense of pride and passion for what you do.
But the sacrifice
Is very worth it you see-
You gain a family
Not just some new friends
But now a community
Have you ever stepped foot in another person’s shoe?
Or impacted someone’s life with something you do?
If not you should go out and try it.
Because the joy you feel, you just can’t deny it.
What does Bonner mean to me?
Walk into TRIP and you will see.
AHHH Dr. Seuss is that you?
Always together
Reaching out and helping hands
Spreading happiness
This is so wholesome
I am a Bonner
serving my community
shoutout to Larry
I laughed
HAHAH michael Im dead
Service is reaching one step further
Service is bigger than yourself
Service is selfless
Service is you
Service is Me
Together we serve
Together we love
We are Bonners
We have a charismatic leader who successfully and effortlessly manages much of the group’s activity.
We arrive early on campus for our annual 8-day indoctrination ceremony for new members.
We are often misunderstood because of our ‘with, not for’ mentality.
We share a love that is exclusively for members.
We spend most of our days surrounded by one another.
We reflect almost excessively.
And when it’s almost over, we struggle to picture a life outside of each other.
We are…
Bonner Service Leaders!
Bonner to me is like a family
That has taken me in no matter my nationality
We are all different in personalities
But at the end of the day we share the same qualities
Some of us are loud
Some of us don’t shout
But the bonner bond is strong
Each others differences is what we love the most
B-love
Soul Food.
Release the ego and free the soul.
We ALL deserve a bowl.
People over profit.
It’s not like building a rocket.
“Work harder”, they say
But without food there’s no way.
“Pay more attention in school.”
But we need food for fuel, that’s the golden rule.
No man above the rest.
We all deserve the best, I do protest.
When we see there is nothing to be gained from greed.
We can plant the seed, and learn to feed.
Release the ego and free the soul.
woah… this was deep. I love it!

Bonners, bonners everywhere!
Thinking about skipping service?
Don’t you dare!
We are a family, some say B-LOVE,
Always there for each other
When push comes to shove.
In Albany, Troy, all the way to Cohoes,
Our sites are not near
But we’ll always remain close.
Wednesday night meetings are always so great,
Friends everywhere at friday session,
Academic support… don’t be late!
From Unity House on to RISSE,
It’s been tough to say my goodbyes.
New experiences happening everyday,
I’m glad Katie is there for me every step of the way!
(Don’t ask me what kind of poem this is… I just made it rhyme)
Service with a smile
Winds of change always present
United we stand
