Bonner Bonding | Pumpkins, Costumes, and Dinner Galore!

Bonner Bonding | Pumpkins, Costumes, and Dinner Galore!

December 20, 2019 Stories from ACE 0

Bonner Love was strong this semester! We came together to paint pumpkins, dressed up for a Halloween costume contest, and shared what we’re thankful for at the annual Bonner Thanksgiving dinner.

In October Bonners came together to paint pumpkins at the More House. We had a variety of different small, large, orange, and white pumpkins to paint all the colors of the rainbow. Add some Bonner Love, pumpkin baked goods and a special guest appearance from Katie’s foster dog Dude and you have a great afternoon of bonding! Some of the Bonners decided to leave their pumpkins they painted at the More House to decorate the building for Halloween. As the Bonners, ate and painted they got to relax and talk to one another about the semester. Overall it was a successful Bonner Bonding event!

Just a few weeks later, at our Wednesday seminar before Halloween, we hosted a Bonner costume contest! Everyone dressed up in costumes ranging from spooky skeleton makeup, to Panera employees, to Stitch. Bonners that dressed up participated in a fashion show, showing off their costumes, followed by prizes for our top contestants. There was a tie for second place Kayla Sweet ’20 as a self-care queen and Ivory Moore ’20 as the clown from IT. The winner was in fact a site team – the Capital Roots group; Amelia Bulter ’20, Erin Spence ’22, and Kevin Ziobrowski ’21 who dressed up as a garden!

As our last bonding event of the semester, Bonners gathered on Sunday the 24th before Thanksgiving for a lovely dinner with turkey, bread, salad, and yummy baked goods. Everyone had beautiful name cards that Dana made for all who attended. The cards were set up randomly so people got to sit and talk to people who they don’t get to connect with on a regular basis. While everyone was eating, we went around the table and said what we are all thankful for. It was a great dinner and a fun way to start off the holiday season with the Bonner family.
