Bonner Bonding | Connecting via Social Media and Zoom

Taking on Social Media for the Siena College ACE accounts this semester was exciting yet daunting! It is a really neat experience to be able to manage the social media accounts and come up with new ideas to keep the Bonner and ACE world connected– reaching alumni, current students, community partners, NExT Fellows, VISTAs, and everyone in between!

Other Program Associates have helped in making cool templates of fun posts for Bonners to share to their own personal accounts such as “Tag a Bonner Who…” (inspires you, challenges you, etc.) This allowed Bonners to appreciate one another and spread some positivity and B-Love in the midst of difficult times.

I had the opportunity to work on creating Spotlight posts for Senior ACE members as well as spotlight posts to highlight our amazing community partners. It was fun to reach out to current students to get quotes regarding their experiences as a Bonner! This meant a lot of time spent on Canva editing templates and then on Instagram posting daily!

Given the circumstances living through a pandemic, we have started hosting Bonner Zoom calls to connect both current and alumni in our Siena Bonner network. There have been various sessions hosted to talk about different topics such as Netflix shows and fun quarantine activities. The coolest part about these Zoom calls was definitely getting to meet alumni Bonners and hearing about where they are now! The calls serve as a great way to pass the time at home, see some friendly faces, and engage with our Bonner family even from a distance!
