Bonner Spotlight | Tristan Hunzinger ’22
I am a sophomore Health Sciences major with minors in Biology and Business and, of course, our certificate in Community Development. I am pursuing a career in physical therapy and am planning to attend graduate school to earn a doctorate’s degree after Siena. As a Bonner, I serve with Green Tech High Charter School in downtown Albany in the counseling department. My main focus at Green Tech is assisting students throughout their college application process, which includes filling out the Common App, applying for Financial Aid, and writing college essays. A project that I am passionate about is our newly implemented College Resource Center, in which we have been able to provide support for seniors applying to schools as well as underclassmen who are beginning to prepare for their college/post-high school plans. Serving with the school counselors at Green Tech High, I have grown as a leader and as a person in general. I have had the opportunity to utilize and improve my communication skills with staff as well as with people younger than myself and the school setting has allowed me to test my critical thinking. I will be planning our annual College Access Day this year, and we will be switching things up, bringing students from Green Tech to Siena to learn about the college application process and life on a college campus. Outside of Bonner, I am a member of the Health and Wellness Student Leaders team, the Men’s Spirituality group, and a campus retreat leader.
